Description

Shooter is a very entertaining and challenging game. Fully customizable, it invites users to discover your products by playing a highly addictive game. Your players are invited to fill out a form, shoot the objects that appear on the screen, and find out their score.

Summary

Game Design

Before setting up your campaign, you will need to have created the various graphic elements required. To begin, please consult this page which will give you access to all the essential information for the graphic creation of your campaign: Creating the graphics of your games. To create the specific elements of the Shooter module, please consult this article.

Pages setup

First, click on New Campaign and select the Shooter mechanic. You will then be taken to the campaign editor which includes the 4 stages of this mechanic: Form, Shooter, a Result page and an End of campaign page. If you wish, you can add a home page and/or a teaser page.

Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, including the campaign dates, terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Background image setup

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under ' Background Image'. To find out the graphic specifications for this module's background images, please check the 'Game Design' section in this article. You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can leave the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that evokes (for instance) your brand or your game pages.

Game settings

  • Limited particippation: set the number of entries per day, week, month or campaign and per user, then create and select your Already Played page. If the user tries to play again, they will be taken directly to this page. We recommend that you do not activate the limited participation so that your participants can replay the game as many times as they want.

  • Number of lives: you can choose to have between 1 and 5 lives on this module - if the participant exceeds the allowed limit, the game will stop and be considered lost. A life is lost if the participant has failed to shoot an element or has shot an element that he/she should have avoided.

1 successful shot = 100 points

  • Enable chronometer: Activate this option to add difficulty to the player. This means that the player will have to make the best score possible before the time runs out. You will then have to define the number of seconds left to the participant.

  • Display result page: Select "Show result page" so that users can find out if they have won or not. To choose the type of result, see this page. Depending on the type of result, you can adjust the number of pages won, lost and already played.

Customizing the appearance

  • Game background visual: upload the visual that will be integrated into the game area, i.e. the background in which the participant will have to shoot at the elements.

  • Cursor visual: the visual representing the target that will help the participant to aim better.

  • Life visual: you have to upload the visual representing the lives you have defined.

  • Shooter element(s): you have to upload the visual representing the elements to shoot (it can be your products for example).

  • Elements to be avoided: you must upload the visual representing the elements that the participant will have to avoid shooting.

  • Scrolling of the background elements: if you activate the scrolling scenery, it will scroll in the background. This can be confusing for the player and can make the game more difficult.

  • Type of Disappearance: To see the different choices available to you, please see the following paragraph "Possible Appearance and Disappearance Types".

  • Appearance direction: you can customise the way your elements appear - by choosing between "up", "down", "from the left", "from the right" - or make them appear directly at a randomly set point - by choosing the "None" option.

The advanced options settings allow you to configure your loading bar and endgame text.

McDonald's scripts its Shooter as a western where the participant has to shoot the bandits while avoiding Harry, their mascot.

Orange TV takes advantage of the release of the film "Men in Black International" to feature the participant in a battle scene against aliens.
