Updated over 2 years ago

Description

Match3 is a puzzle game based on the concept of the famous "Candy Crush", and is ideal for challenging your audience. The user has to align visuals and make as many combinations as possible in the time allowed to get the best score. You can modify the game area according to several possible models. The game elements are also customizable, and can be scripted to fit your products and highlights. This mechanic is ideal if you have an engagement goal. Play the Match3 demo.

Page setup

First of all, click on ' New Campaign' and select the Match3 mechanism.

You will reach the campaign editor, where you will find the mechanism's 4 pages: Home (optional); Form; Match3 ; and the Result Pages.

If you want, you can also add a teaser page and/or an end of campaign page.

Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, by entering the campaign dates and importing the Rules and Privacy Policy.

Background images setup

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under 'Background Image'.

To find out the graphics specifications for this module's background images, please check the 'Game design' section in this article.

You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can keep the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that reflects your brand or your game pages, for instance.

Game settings

Limited participation: You can leave this option disabled if you want your participants to be able to play your game indefinitely. If you activate it, set the number of games per day, week, month, campaign, or user; then create and select your 'Already Played' page. If users try to replay the game, they will be redirected to this page.

Game Mode: There are 2 game modes for the Match3 :

  • Normal: the participant must make a maximum of combinations with the visuals given to him in the level.

  • Rescue: the participant has to bring down a specific visual from the top of the level to the bottom, making combinations that will free up space for his "fall".

Enable chronometer: Activate this option to add difficulty to the player, who will have to make the best possible score before the time runs out.

Limited movement: by activating this option, the player will have a limited number of moves (= attempts) to get the most points thanks to the combinations found. You will have to define yourself the number of moves you want to let him make.

Display result page: Select “Display result page” so that users can find out if they've won or not. To choose the type of result, read this page. Adjust the number of Won, Lost and Already Played pages.

Customizing the appearance

Game visuals: these are the different visuals that you will have to line up to get points.

Choice of the visual column: Useful for the "Rescue" mode. Choose the column on which the object will start to fall.

Level shape: you have 6 different shapes at your disposal. The shape of the grid influences its complexity, and therefore the score you can reach. Here is an example of maximum score presented by level, as an indication, with a game where a player is very lucky, for a game configured at 60 seconds :

Opacity of the background and the edge of the tiles: you can optimize the visual rendering of your game by playing on the opacity and color of the tiles.

The advanced options settings allow you to configure your loading bar as well as the texts that will be displayed according to the different combinations made by the participant.

To start a countdown at the beginning of the game, enter the numbers and/or texts followed by ";". - for example: 3;2;1;Go!

Editing and preview settings

By clicking on the game area in the editor, you will be able to access the game preview as well as the edition of the game dimensions (to best integrate your game in a mobile application).

Mobile version setup

Once your desktop campaign has been set up, you must switch to Mobile view in order to import the dedicated background images and format your pages for this device.

To import Mobile background images, follow the same procedure as for Desktop backgrounds.

Campaign launch and test

Once the desktop and mobile versions have been finalized, you can publish the campaign.
