Description

The Intruder module consists in trying to find the intruder among all the decoys. Fully customizable, this advergame is ideal for maximizing the visibility of your products and services, by promoting them through addictive gameplay that involves a high concentration from users on the products and services to which they are exposed through the game. Users are invited to complete a form and click on the moving intruder that appears on the screen. Fast to play, the module works particularly well when combined with an Instant Win to maximize your recruitment objectives: users will be invited to find the intruder before the time runs out, so they can access an Instant Win once a day.

Summary

Game design

Before setting up your campaign, you will need to have created the different graphic elements needed.

Please check this article that will explain all the essential information for the graphic creation of your campaign: Creating your games graphics.

To create custom elements for the Intruder module, please check this graphic manual:

If you want to include game variables on your background, consider leaving them a space in the graphic design:

Page setup

First, click on New campaign and select the Intruder. You are then in the campaign editor which includes the 4 steps of this game : Form, Intruder, Result page and the end of campaign page. If you want, you can also add a teaser page and/or a home page.

Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, by entering the campaign dates and importing the terms and condition and privacy policy.

Background image setup

Upload your desktop wallpapers by clicking the "+" icon in Background Image. To understand the graphic specifications of the backgrounds for this module, please refer to the "Game Design" section of this article. You also have the option to add a solid background colour that will surround your game pages, you can leave the basic colour or choose to standardise your campaign with a colour that resembles your brand or game pages, for example.

Game settings

Number of participation (if "Limited participation" is enabled): Set the number of participation per day, week, month or campaign and per user, then create and select your Already Played page. If the user tries to replay, he will land directly on this page. Ideally, we recommend disabling the Limited participation option to encourage the user to revisit your campaign regularly. The user can, for example, be invited to replay as often as he wants to improve his score and to try to be part of the 100 best players before the end of the campaign.

Enable chronometer: activate this option to challenge your users, they will have to make the best possible score before the end of the time limit or simply find the intruder before the end of the time limit. You will have to select the number of seconds the user will have to score points.

Game mode: you can decide to activate one of the 4 game modes available, each of which will display the visual elements in a different way.

Speed ratio: Here you can determine the scrolling speed of the visuals (decoys and intruders), to increase or decrease the overall difficulty of the game.

Display result page: Select "Display result page" so that users can see if they have won or not. To choose the type of result, read this article. Depending on it, adapt the number of pages Won, Lost and Already played.

For information, the Intruder module has the following rules:

  • The user who has clicked on the Intruder visual within the given time or as the only selection choice has won.

  • The user who has clicked on any visual other than that of the intruder, within the given time or as the only selection choice has lost.

We therefore recommend the "Winner/Loser" result type on this module.

Customizing the appearance

Intruder visual: import the visual to be found by the user. This visual will of course have to differ from the decoys in a more or less important way depending on the difficulty you want for the game.

Decoys visuals: import the visuals that will be used to fill the game space during the scrolling. This can be an opportunity to highlight a product of your brand for example.

Finally, the advanced options settings allow you to configure your loading bar.

Editing and preview settings

By clicking on the game area in the editor, you will be able to access the game preview as well as the edition of the game dimensions (to best integrate your game in a mobile application). Learn more about this feature

Mobile setup

Once your Desktop Campaign is set up, you need to switch to Mobile view to import the dedicated background and to format your different pages for that support. To import Mobile backgrounds, follow the same procedure as for Desktop background. The keyboard is fixed at the bottom of the screen for the Mobile view, and the elements must be repositioned via the edit mode.

Campaign launch and Test

Once the desktop and mobile versions have been finalized, you can publish the campaign. Don't forget to check your campaign. Use our emailing option to increase engagement on your marketing campaign.
