Description

The Check-in is specifically adapted for mobile campaigns. It allows you to propose to the participants to move to predefined locations, such as :

  • to go to the shop(s) and take part in an exclusive game in store only

  • to create a "Treasure Hunt" type campaign, where each confirmed location leads to another location, until the final location is found

  • to give information about specific locations or test knowledge (e.g. a Check'in that redirects to a Quiz related to the participant's current location)

The interest is therefore multiple: it is an excellent way to drive in-store traffic, to engage your participants to play with your brand universe and/or to promote your products.

Summary

Design

To start, please visit this page, where you will find all the information you need to create the graphics for your campaign. To create elements specific to the Check'in module, please see this article.

Page setup

First, click on New Campaign and select the Check'in mechanic. You will then be taken to the campaign editor which includes the 4 stages of this mechanic: Form, Check'in, a Result page and an End of campaign page. If you wish, you can add a home page and/or a teaser page. Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, including the campaign dates, terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Background image setup

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under ' Background Image'. To find out the graphic specifications for this module's background images, please check the 'Game Design' section in this article You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can leave the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that evokes (for instance) your brand or your game pages.

Check'in settings

You must first define what will be the center of your map in latitude and longitude, which will center the display on this point when the participant opens the Check'in page. If you want participants to visit your shop, we advise you to enter the coordinates of your shop.

  • Default zoom: this setting allows you to have a default map that will be more or less zoomed.

  • Range (in meters): Allows you to define the radius of location around each marker. Concretely, this means that if you indicate "20", the participant will have to geolocate within a radius of 20 meters around a location marker in order to be "validated".

  • Enable movement: allows the participant to manually move the map to identify all the location markers, for example.

  • Enable zoom: means that your users will be able to zoom in on the map manually.

  • Show Controls: means that the user will be able to choose the map's plan or satellite mode.

Content customization

Upload CSV file: if you have many location markers to create, we advise you to download the example file and complete it and then import it on the platform. The Check'in module requires that you import a list of geographic coordinates encoded in UTF-8 format, saved in a TXT file. To encode in UTF-8 format, you need to download an HTML editor software, such as Notepad ++ and convert your file to the right format.

Add a marker: if you have very few location markers to create, you can add them manually. You will need to add the latitude and longitude of each target: a map will appear to allow you to visualize the target location.

For both cases, define the error text that will appear if the participant is not in a valid geolocation zone (i.e. outside the range you have defined).

Check'in appearance

Upload the visual of the marker as well as the visual corresponding to the user once it is geolocated. You can also define the size of the map to best integrate it into your page background. Finally, you can change the style of the map by integrating your JSON.

Mobile setup

Once your Desktop Campaign is set up, you need to switch to Mobile view to import the dedicated backgrounds and format your different pages for that support. To import mobile backgrounds, follow the same procedure as for desktop backgrounds.

Campaign launch and Test

Once the desktop and mobile versions have been finalized, you can publish the campaign. Don't forget to check your campaign. Use our emailing option to increase engagement on your marketing campaign.

How to read your export

Whether you export single participants or all participations, you will always get 3 columns linked to the Check'in module:

  • "Check'in done" : number of geolocation attempts

  • "Check'in success" : number of successful geolocations

  • "Check'in list" : coordinates of successful geolocations

The participation export will allow you to see the dates and times of location attempts for each participant (column "participation_date").
