Description

The Questions module is an all-in-one mechanism that allows you to launch three different game modes: Quiz, Survey, and Personality Test. This article focuses on the 'Personality Test' mode, which allows you to classify your users by inviting them to discover their 'profile'. You may use this game module to direct your customers to the products that meet their needs - thus maximizing the purchasing incentive - and to collect additional data - thus improving the segmentation of your prospects and customers without using a classic form.

Users will thus be invited to answer several questions in order to discover their personal profile, which you can then display and customize with the products and services that best suit their results.

Summary

Game design

Before setting up your campaign, you will need to have created the various graphic elements required. To begin, please consult this page which will give you access to all the essential information for the graphic creation of your campaign: Creating the graphics of your games. To create the specific elements of the Personality Test module, please read this article.

Page setup

First of all, click on ' New Campaign' and select the Personality Test module.

This will take you to the campaign editor, where you will find the mechanism's stages : Form, Question Pages (Question 1, Question 2, Question 3), Associated Profile Pages (Result A, Result B, Result C), an 'Already Played' page and finally an end of campaign page. If you wish, you can add a home page and/or a teaser page.

Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, including the campaign dates, terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Background image setup

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under ' Background Image'. To find out the graphics specifications for this module's background images, please refer to the 'Game design' section in this article. You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can keep the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that reflects, for example, your brand or your game pages.

Game settings

Limited participation: Choose whether users can play your campaign game as many times as they want, or enable this option and choose the number of games per day, week, month, campaign and user, then create and select your 'Already Played' page. If users try to replay the game, they will be redirected to this page.

Game mode: This module features three different game modes; in this case, select 'Personality Test' before proceeding to any other setting.

Edit profiles: Create your various profiles by choosing names that will allow you to easily identify them. You must create a basic page for every profile in order to display them on the end page. There is no limit to the number of profiles created, however, we recommend that you do not exceed 5.

First question: this setting don't need to be activated (valid only for "Quiz" mode).

Display result page: Enable this option on the last page of your Personality Test so that users can see their results. You can choose 'Result only' or 'Result per profile'.

  1. 'Result only' means that you only need a basic page, which will tell your users that the Test is over, but it will not display the profile resulting from the Test. It will only tell users that they have answered all the questions.

  2. 'Result per profile' displays the profile resulting from the questions answered by users. In order to do this, you must select 'Result with profile' and set the basic pages according to the various profiles you have created.

Profile displayed in case of a tie

If there is a tie between multiple profiles at the end of the test, the profile that the client first clicked on during the test is the one that will be selected.

In this example, Profiles 3 and 4 have been selected twice, but Profile 4 was the first one to be selected by the user in the Personality Test, so it's the one that will be displayed:

Tip : page settings if you have many profiles

In a campaign with many profiles, it is preferable to avoid putting one answer per profile for all profiles on the Question pages in order to have a lighter page in terms of content.

Here is a typical example of an installation with 5 profiles so that each response related to a particular profile appears the same number of times over the campaign:

Module content

  • Question title: Write the question for your Personality Test page. Note that you can include several questions on the same page; however, we recommend only one question per page so as to avoid excessively 'heavy' screens.

  • Answer: Write the answer to the question and set the profile to be associated with it by selecting the corresponding basic page under 'Associated profile'. If Answer 1 corresponds to Profile 1, this means that when users select this answer, they are more likely to be a Profile 1. Add more answers and don't forget to associate them with the right profile.

  • Edit the error message: Edit the validation text that appears when users haven't ticked a reply to this question and place it above the 'Validate' button.

Mobile setup

Once your Desktop Campaign is set up, you need to switch to Mobile view to import the dedicated backgrounds and format your different pages for that support. To import mobile backgrounds, follow the same procedure as for desktop backgrounds.

Campaign launch and Test

Once the desktop and mobile versions have been finalized, you can publish the campaign. Don't forget to check your campaign. Use our emailing option to increase engagement on your marketing campaign.
