Description

The Questions module is an all-in-one mechanism that allows you to launch three different game modes: Quiz, Survey, and Personality Test. This article focuses on the 'Survey' mode: it allows you to collect data about the preferences of your users, who are invited to answer one or more questions without a score purpose.

Game design

Before setting up your campaign, you will need to have created the various graphic elements required. To begin, please consult this page which will give you access to all the essential information for the graphic creation of your campaign: Creating the graphics of your games. To create the specific elements of the Survey module, please consult this article.

Page setup

First of all, click on 'New Campaign' and select the Questions module (which will be used in the 'Survey' game mode throughout this tutorial). This will take you to the campaign editor, where you will find the mechanism's 5 stages : Form; Question 1, Question 2, Question 3, Results and the end of campaign page. Don't forget to set up your campaign settings now, including the campaign dates, terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Background image setup

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under ' Background Image'. To find out the graphics specifications for this module's background images, please refer to the 'Game design' section in this article. You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can keep the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that reflects, for example, your brand or your game pages.

Game settings

  • Limited participation: Choose whether users can play your campaign game as many times as they want, or enable this option and choose the number of games per day, week, month, campaign and user, then create and select your 'Already Played' page. If users try to replay the game, they will be redirected to this page.

  • Game mode: This module features three different game modes; in this case, select 'Survey' before proceeding to any other setting.

  • First question: this setting don't need to be activated (valid only for "Quiz" mode).

  • Display result page: Enable this option on the page where you want the display the result page. For instance, if you want to display a result after 5 question pages, the option should only be enabled on the 5th and last 'Question' page. If you want to know more about the various result modes, please refer to this article: Result page.

  • Result page: Select the campaign page that will display the user's final page - for example, you can add a Basic page with a generic 'thank you' message or an Instant Win page to boost your recruitment goals.

Module contents

  • Optional question: By activating this option you can make your questions optional.

  • Question title: Write your Survey page Question here. Note that you can include several questions on the same page (however we recommend only one question per page so as to avoid excessively 'heavy' screens).

  • Type of answer: You can choose from 5 options, but note that you can include several questions with a different type of answer on the same page.

  • Only one answer: only one answer will be possible among all the alternatives.

  • Multiple answers: Allowing multiple answers, this is the equivalent to the Multiple Choice Quiz (MCQ) mode.

  • Free field: Users write their own answers on a dedicated field. Note: If you use this field to test a user's knowledge about a particular subject (and not just to collect a customer opinion), you can enter the expected word(s) in the 'expected answers' field by separating them with a semicolon (;).

  • Optional free field: If they want, users can use this field to answer your question. This can be useful if you want to receive additional information from your users without making it a requirement.

  • Dropdown list: You can display the possible answers on a dropdown list so that the user can choose an option from the list. This is particularly useful when you have several options for only one question.

  • Answer in image: You can replace a written answer with an image for users to click on. This customization is very useful for enhancing the visibility of your products and services. Note: The bullet point with the answer text/image remains visible (users can click on the image or on the bullet point; the result will be the same).

  • Edit the error message: Customize the text that will appear when the user tries to advance to the next question or step without selecting any answer. We recommend using a brighter text color than with your questions and answers.

Text customization

Click on the text fields that you have configured (question text and corresponding answer options) to bring up the 'Text Customization' option in the editor. You can then change the following parameters: Font type: There are 6 font types by default, but you can import other fonts (in WOFF format) by clicking on 'Add font '. Font size, Spacing, Alignment, Bold, Italic, Underline, Reset the text field style.

Mobile setup

Once your Desktop Campaign is set up, you need to switch to Mobile view to import the dedicated backgrounds and format your different pages for that support. To import mobile backgrounds, follow the same procedure as for desktop backgrounds.

Campaign launch and Test

Once the desktop and mobile versions have been finalized, you can publish the campaign. Don't forget to check your campaign. Use our emailing option to increase engagement on your marketing campaign.
