Description

The Upload Media page is essential if you want your users to be able to upload their own media for the Photo Contest, Video Contest and Proof of Purchase campaigns. This allows you to give them the ability to use multiple upload sources to add and customize their media. This module is only available from the editor when installing a new page on your campaign.

Images - Accepted image formats : .JPG / .PNG / .GIF // Maximum accepted weight per image : 2 Mb

Videos - Accepted video formats : .AVI / .MP4 / .AVI // Maximum accepted weight per video : 300 Mb

Page design

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under ' Background Image'. You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can keep the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that reflects your brand or your game pages, for instance.

Participation and voting settings

Number of participation: Set the number of games per day, week, month, campaign, or user; then create and select your 'Already Played' page. If users try to replay the game, they will be redirected to this page. Ideally, we recommend one game per day in order to encourage users to return to your campaign on a regular basis.

Number of media allowed per participation: you can allow users to upload a maximum number of media (between 1 and 5) at once and per participation on the Upload Media page. Example: if you allow 5 media and your campaign has access limited to once a day, your user will be able to upload up to 5 media daily) If you allow multiple media to be uploaded, they can be grouped together on a single preview.

⚠️ Maximum weight authorized per visual : 10 Mb

You also need to choose the page to which the user will be redirected when validating his upload(s) - for information, this does not generate an automatic security rule. Format of generated images: choose the distribution format of the uploaded images between these 4 options :

  • Landscape

  • Portrait

  • Square

  • Free (the format of the media will be the original one)

Before going further in the configuration, check that you have configured the form correctly. Choose the information that users must fill in to upload their photo. This is information that will go back into the users' export.

Add a type of upload: You can choose whether the user will be able to upload media from his computer, webcam, Facebook or Instagram. - If you enable Facebook upload: you must associate a Facebook application. For this application, you must make a Facebook submission for Facebook to accept that your users publish media from their account. To learn more about Facebook's submission for a photo contest, click here.

⚠️ Warning: this request may take several days (+/- 5 days) to be accepted by Facebook, so anticipate this delay in your provisional schedule. - If you enable Instagram upload: you must associate an Instagram application. The "Filter by hashtags" field (which appears when you click on the upload button) is useful for Instagram uploads. Indeed, when the user clicks on Instagram upload, he will only be able to upload media containing the specified hashtag. For example, if the user has published a photo with #adictiz on his Instagram account, it will only appear when he clicks on the Instagram pictogram.

⚠️ Warning: due to recent limitations in the sharing policy, this feature is not available at the moment.

Add a custom field: if you wish, you can activate fields (such as "Name", "Short Description" or "Category" for example) so that the user can describe the uploaded media. You can also add your own custom fields. Important: to find the user information entered on your custom fields, you will need to export the "Export media" file in the "Media" tab.

Add media preview: You can also give your users the opportunity to preview their media before publishing it in the gallery - a pop-in will then appear.

By clicking on the preview image, you can:

  • Enable the addition of stickers (elements that can be moved and modified in the editing area by the user)

  • Enable the addition of layers (fixed elements that come to a specific location, which you define during the "Layer editing" configuration, "position" option, on the uploaded media)

  • Activate the zoom

  • Change the color of the media editing icons

If enabled, you can import and customize the stickers and layers you make available to users.

Enabling and editing options for stickers, layers, zoom and icon color:

Change the type of Upload to Video : if you want to give the possibility to your users to upload videos instead of images or let the type of upload free by combining image + video, click on the upload button "Computer / Mobile" then select its type in the dropdown list :

Mobile version setup

Once your desktop campaign has been set up, you must switch to Mobile view in order to import the dedicated background images and format your pages for this device. To import Mobile background images, follow the same procedure as for Desktop backgrounds.

Examples of use of Upload Média

About a proof of purchase campaign: there is already a module dedicated to the upload of proofs of purchase which also has a "Protected page" option allowing the user to redirect to the latter if and only if the upload has been made and validated.

If you wish to use the Upload Media module in a post-purchase context, make sure you set up your security rules to protect the pages accessible after the proof of purchase upload.
