If you want to make a Photo Contest with a photo upload via Facebook, you must submit your Facebook application to be authorized for this action.
Indeed, in the "Upload media" module of the platform, you have the option to activate the upload by Facebook. Therefore, it is necessary to create a Facebook application dedicated to the game and associate it with the game.
Once your application is created and added to our platform, return on Facebook developers. Add your application icon in 1024x1024pixels, the privacy policy URL and the associated category in the "Settings" tab.
Once your Facebook application is set up and "live", follow the instructions below:
- Go to "App Review" and select "Permissions and features"
- Find the "user_photos" category and click on "Request", then "Continue"
- Fill the request form: you will have to explain and describe the user experience with their photos, and how you will use them. Make sure to complete also all the steps under "Complete App Verification and Settings"
In the free field that appears, you must describe step by step the user journey of your game in English and accurately.
Choose "Web" for the question "On which platforms does your app use user_photos"?
Example:
Fill in the fields "Name", "First Name", "Email" of the form.
Click on the blue button "Play"
Click on the blue button "Publish my photo"
Click on the facebook icon and then select a picture from your facebook account
Complete the fields "Name" and "Description" of the photo
Click on the blue button "Validate"
Click on the blue button "View the gallery" to see your picture in the gallery
Once all these actions are written, take a video of all these steps as if you were a user who wants to participate in your game.
Tip: you can download the Licecap software to make your registration.
Convert it to .mp3 and upload it > Click Save.
In the "Application Verification" tab, you have the option to add a Test App, a Test User and Testing Credentials so facebook can test your application - however, this is an optional feature.
Once you have completed all the steps, you can confirm by pressing "Submit for Review"
At this point, there are 2 options:
If you have a Business Manager account and have linked it to your application, the process is completed and the test results of your application will be sent to you within 5 days.
If you do not have a Business Manager account, Facebook will ask you to sign 2 contracts after checking your application, and before sending you the test results. The entire process can take up to 10 days before your application is validated.
