Media Gallery Module
Updated over 2 years ago

Description

The Media Gallery page is the key element of any campaign including a creative game (Customizer, Shopping List, Photo Contest...) by allowing your users to publicly present and share their uploaded media with other participants. This module is presented as a gallery highlighting all the media present on the campaign, whether they have been uploaded by you or by your users (immediately or after moderation by you). Its many customization settings allow you to integrate it perfectly into your gamepaths and generate UGC (User Generated Contents) content around your entity, maximizing its visibility & engaging your community around your products, services and brand worlds.

⚠️ This module is only available from the editor when installing a new page on your campaign.

Summary

Page design

Upload your desktop background images by clicking on the '+' icon under 'Background Image'. You can also add a solid background color to surround your game pages - you can keep the default color or standardize your campaign with a color that reflects your brand or your game pages, for instance.

Participation and voting settings

Enable participation: If you activate participation, a "Participate" button appears, redirecting to the "Upload Media" page of the campaign so that your users can upload their media and participate in the contest. This button can be customized with a visual and a wording such as "I submit a photo" for example. You will then choose the dates on which users will be able to add their media to the gallery. If you disable participation, it means that users will not be able to upload media. They will only be able to see the gallery containing the photos you have previously uploaded, and vote if you activate the vote.

Enable votes: this option allows you to engage users around the game. If you enable voting, you can choose the dates on which users will be able to vote.

Type of vote: You can choose between two types of votes:

  • Classic: users see all the uploaded media from the gallery and can vote for their favorite visual by clicking on it. A pop-in will open with the "vote" button.

  • Like: users can "like" a media from the game gallery. This will go up in the Facebook news feed of the friends of the person who voted. To do this, they must be connected to a Facebook account.

However, we strongly recommend that you choose the classic vote because we can easily uncover possible abuses with it, unlike the "like" that Facebook does not allow to track.

Registration mandatory (only if "classic" voting is enabled): You can choose to require registration before voting. That is to say, if a relative wishes to vote for your media, he or she will first be redirected to the form to access the vote. This will give you access to another parameter, Validation by email, which will require the creation of an emailing to inform the user that his vote has been taken into account (trigger: "Confirm a vote").

Limited vote (only if "classic" voting is enabled): this option allows you to manage the number of possible votes per user and per day, week, month or campaign and per media.

Module Content

Show medias of the page: Select the "None" choice for this option if you choose to import all the photos that users will be able to see and vote on. If you want to retrieve media from another page of your campaign (for example if you have asked your users to upload their own photos), select the Upload Media page that you will have previously installed.

Image / video media: Enable this option to specify that the files that will be displayed will be in Image and/or Video format. For a photo contest, for example, you must activate the media image and deactivate the media video. Examples :

  • Photo Contest : activate Image media and deactivate Video media

  • Video Contest : activate Video media and deactivate Image media

Show content after moderation: this means that when a person uploads their photo, you will have to accept that it may or may not appear in the gallery, via a moderation action on your part. Until you accept or reject the media in question, the photo will not be displayed in the gallery. This requires regular moderation from your team. If you do not enable this option, all photos uploaded by users will appear directly in the media gallery.

Stream Twitter: define one or more hashtags that will be used to upload user content from Twitter.

Filter by language: if several languages have been configured on your campaign, you can choose that your users only see media that have been uploaded by users of the same language as them by enabling this option.

Customizing the appearance

Gallery type: you can choose between 3 types of display for your photos (see below for comparison) You can also complete the customization by choosing the image size and margin for your photos.

You can also complete the customisation by choosing the image size and margin for your photos.

Enable search: Allows you to display a search bar for your users, if there are a large number of photos on your Media Gallery page.

Selection fields: You have the possibility to display filters at the top of the gallery to make it easier for your users to find their way around.

Click on the filter bar in the game editor to configure it. You can change the filters that will be displayed when a user clicks on this bar.

  • "Newest" are media that have just been added.

  • "Most popular" are the media that have received the most votes.

  • "The most viewed" are the media that got the most views.

  • "Least Viewed" are the media that got the least views.

Pop-in view settings

The appearance of the pop-in window can be modified to reflect the colors of your campaign and provide more description and sharing options to your users:

  • Style: modify the appearance of your window by choosing if the media title will be placed at the top or bottom of the uploaded media. the font and color of the window text

  • Background color / Background color for the frame: Change the general appearance of the pop-in backgrounds.

  • Elements to display: choose the fields that will be displayed on the screen so that the user can describe the uploaded media. You can choose between Name / Short description / Long description / Author / Store and the possibility to add custom fields.

  • Social widgets: encourage your users to create sharing on social networks by adding various widgets (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest,...)

  • Display vote (stars): if the "Vote" field is enabled in the items to be displayed, a vote counter will be displayed on the pop-in. However, you can choose to hide the number of votes and replace it with stars whose number of votes you will determine in advance so that they are "validated".

  • Reporting link: if media moderation has not been enabled, this option allows you to add a customizable link to report abusive content so that you can intervene and check the validity of the media or even delete it if necessary.

  • Show delete link (only if you have our Emailing option): give the users the possibility to remove a media they previously uploaded by clicking on a link. They will be then asked to confirm the deletion via an email triggered in our Emailing option.

Mobile setup

Once your Desktop campaign is set up, you need to switch to Mobile view to import the dedicated backgrounds and format your different pages for this material. To import Mobile backgrounds, follow the same procedure as for Desktop backgrounds.
