Benefit of the chronometer for your game

Integrating a chronometer into a game can reinforce user engagement and develop the notion of challenge.

A user who has not achieved a certain score, (in 60 sec for example) will be more likely to try again than if it was only a score in a ranking.

As a result, it can strengthen user engagement with your brand, product.

Adding a chronometer

To add a chronometer to your game screen, letting the user know how much time is left of the game, you have to go to the campaign editor and navigate to the corresponding game page.

Next,

  • click on the configuration settings (on the left-hand side of the editor)

  • Activate the chronometer in the game settings and determine the time allotted for the users (here it is 60 seconds by default).

  • Then go to the Text Fields tab (on the left-hand side of the editor) :

  • Drag and drop a text field into the game page.

  • Write %remaining_time%

Note: You will see that when you write down '%', a list of all the variables available on the game screen automatically appears. So, you can either click directly on the drop-down box that appears or write %remaining_time%.

To preview your chronometer, you need to publish your campaign and test it directly on the preview link.

Graphic Customization of the chronometer

The chronometer's text can be personalized as the basic text tool.

  • Click on the text

  • You have the customization of the text displayed at the bottom right.
