Description

Whatever your objective (recruitment, engagement or conversion), the aim of a game campaign is to get participants to carry out different actions (newsletter subscription, redirection to a Facebook or Instagram page, access to a game or commercial page,...). It is therefore necessary to try to provoke these actions from users in a simple and effective way.

The best way to do this is to have "Call To Action" (CTAs) positioned in strategic places and indicating to the participant the possibilities offered to him via incentive texts.

The "Button" widget available in the editor responds to this need and is therefore an indispensable element in your game path.

A few rules to remember

Creating a high-performance button answers to precise notions that we can separate into 3 sections :

Wording

  • favour a short and efficient wording ("I play", "I vote", "I share",...) and avoid punctuation

  • avoid sentences, except in the case of the Opt-in button for example ("I play and I wish to receive the newsletter")

  • choose the present tense instead of the infinitive ("I vote" instead of "Vote")

  • indicate where your button leads rather than explaining how it works ("Register for the next webinar" instead of "Click here")

Design

  • create it with a higher contrast than the rest of your campaign

  • standardize the graphic style of all your buttons

  • add an animation effect to encourage clicking: all the details here!

  • surprise your participants by diverting the visual of your buttons (character or object to select

Position

  • remember to put your button in full view, to "isolate" it from the rest of your text.

  • prefer a placement at the bottom of the page for a more efficient result but be careful to put all your buttons above the waterline (above 800px on Desktop and 960px on Mobile)

  • don't hesitate to duplicate the same button on several pages to increase its readability (like Facebook, URL sharing,...)

Creating a button in the editor

There are 2 ways to create a button from the dedicated widget :

  • click on "Add a button" and drag it to the chosen position on the page:

  • you can also import the visuals of your buttons by clicking on "+". This automatically creates buttons that are ready to be installed on your campaign. Then select the button of your choice and drag it to the position you want:

Personalization of the visual

Each button can be customised to best fit into your brand universe but also to meet specific needs (incentive to Opt-in, accentuated visibility on a reading of rules or instructions, general dynamism of the page, ...).

There are 2 levels of personalisation:

Standard

Once your button is created, you can decide to completely modify its label and change its basic color among the 6 possibilities proposed. The size of your button will be determined by the size of the wording.

Advanced

To enhance the visibility of your message, we recommend adding a visual according to the rules outlined earlier in this article. To do this, click on your button and then click on "Add an image" to import your visual.

Please note: the size of your button will depend on the size of your imported visual. You can however resize it to improve its integration into the overall design of the page.

Please also note: importing a visual in gif format is also possible!

Animation of a button

To make your screens more dynamic and encourage clicks, you can apply an animation effect.

Each animation is repeated every 2 seconds on your campaign (except for the "Pulsate background" effect which is repeated in a loop).

Here are the different possible effects:

Wobble bottom :

Shake bottom :

Pulsate :

Jello horizontal :

Bounce top :

Blink 2 :

The "Custom" option

In addition to these options, you have the ability to simply add the button animation on hover and click.

This way you can create a button that reacts to the actions of your participants, which increases its performance and the number of clicks.

The possible actions of a button

Redirection to a campaign page

You can set your button to direct the participant to a specific page in your game path, for example to replay a particular game, to show the game instructions, or to display a result.

Just click on the button and choose the destination page in the "Redirect to" section. If the redirection page does not exist, click on "Add a page" in the various options.

Please note: if a page is protected by security rules, the redirection may not work - so make sure to redirect the participant to pages that are not automatically protected (e.g. a Ranking page rather than a "Win" page of a Winning Instant).

Open a new URL

The redirection to an external URL is very useful to direct your audience to a targeted landing page according to your campaign objectives:

  • to your merchant site to convert participation into purchases

  • to a page presenting your products/services if you wish to gain visibility and notoriety

  • to the page of a commercial partner of your game campaign

  • etc...

It is possible to add an automatic redirection on a page of the campaign when clicking on the URL via "Redirect to".

There are 3 types of settings:

External URL

URL associated to a page

URL associated to the reward won

Allows you to redirect to the URL of your choice. By default, the option to display in a new tab is enabled but you can choose to disable it.

Allows you to redirect to a URL linked to content - for use with the Swiper and Gift Finder modules, for example.

Valid only if you have installed a reward on your campaign and if you have added a redirect URL.

Use case: redirect your participants to a website page, content presentation, advertising,...

Use case: boost traffic to your site with a button that converts the preferred/selected product selection into a purchase.

Use cases: participants will access the description page of the won product or will be immediately redirected to your merchant site to use a discount code won on an Instant Win game.

Example of redirection to an external URL :

Please note: the "Continuer" button takes you to another page of the campaign.

Tip : It is possible to create a button to allow user to choose his/her language on a multilingual campaign. Check the dedicated article to know more about this feature.

Send an emailing

This configuration requires the Emailing Adictiz solution. The user will be able to enter an email address of his choice (his own or a friend's) to send an email that you will have configured via Emailing (sharing of results obtained, incentive to register, ...).

Open a campaign

This action is very useful if you have several campaigns running at the same time and wish to transfer your participants from one campaign to another: thanks to the parameters for selecting the data to be retained, they will not need to fill in these fields again on the new campaign Form. Only the fields not filled in on the first Form will need to be filled in.

This optimizes the user experience and increases commitment by facilitating the collection of personal data.

Example: Once the first Prediction game is over, Orange Football Club redirects its participants to a second Prediction including other games.

Show a pop-in page

If you wish to limit the number of pages viewed by your participants and thus maximise the participation rate on your campaign, you can opt to display in a pop-in format, for example to display for your instructions at the participant's click or to display more details about your rewards.

Click here to see the recommendations for your pop-in:

Anonymous connection

All games that collect data (Photo Contest, Proof of Purchase, etc... except the Form) are only accessible if the participant is authenticated. Anonymous connection allows access to a module that collects data without being authenticated. For example, on a Photo or Video Contest, you could access the gallery to view photos/videos without filling out the form. A link to the Form can be made afterwards if the visitor wants to vote or upload his own photo/video.

Example of a "Vote" button with anonymous connection to be able to access the gallery without being identified :

Deconnection

The "Deconnection" button configuration allows you to delete / reset the current session to re-register for example. This is particularly useful on a trade show or event when the game is broadcasted on a tablet or terminal.
